80s Themed Party Ideas
The 1980s were a fun time with lots of cool fashion and hairstyles. Music was especially great and memorable. What better way to celebrate the memory of the decade than with an 80s themed party? Hosting the bash will not only be fun but easy as well!
Invite a group of your friends to your upcoming party. You can enlist one or two of your closest ones to help you in planning the party. If you were alive in the 80s and old enough to remember that decade, it will be all the better when you plan and prepare.
Perhaps the most important aspect to keep in mind and stock up on for your 80s themed party relates to the music. There were so many artists that first appeared in the 80s and rose to fame during the decade, including Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Duran Duran and Def Leppard. Make sure to have plenty of music on hand to play at the party. If you still have a boombox that plays cassette tapes, this is a great way to recapture the time of the 1980s, as iPods of course were not around back then.
In your invitations, you cannot over-stress the 80s theme. Urge your guests to dress up in 80s style clothing. They don't have to dress up in costumes but wear staples from the 1980s, such as skinny, tapered leg jeans, stretch pants and oversized shirts. Some of your guests may even have some old clothing from the 80s stashed away in a drawer somewhere! Jewelry was very plentiful during that time as well, especially plastic and rubber bracelets that were worn in bunches. Hair was big, for both women and men alike!
