All About Blue Fish Clothing

Blue Fish Clothing is based in Taos, New Mexico, a small artistic town north of Santa Fe. It was started by a then-17 year-old Jennifer Barclay, when she began creating her own clothes that expressed her creativity and unique style. The "blue" motif paired with a fish presented itself often among the assortment of colors, and developed into the name of the company. In 1986, Jennifer attended a New York trade show and received a startling number of orders for her clothing. She soon enlisted the help of others in the business to help create her clothing.

Since 1995, all the clothing at Blue Fish is made from completely natural, organic fibers such as linen, silk, and hemp. Their materials have not been grown with pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and no harmful chemical agents are used in the process of harvesting or making the cloths. Blue Fish Clothing is therefore very environmentally friendly as it does not release any of these typical chemicals into the atmosphere or water. Blue Fish is still individually printed by practiced artisans.

Blue Fish Clothing is characterized by flowing, loose-fitting styles and is made exclusively for women. Many are monochromatic with printed designs. Although the name "Blue Fish" implies that much of the clothing is blue, that is not necessarily the case. Most of the clothes can be ordered in a variety of different colors.

Blue Fish Clothing is meant to help express your uniqueness and individual, free style. Because of this, there is no "right" or "wrong" way to wear Blue Fish Clothing. It can be layered, dressed up or down, mixed with normal street clothes like jeans, or worn together with other Blue Fish materials. The only right way to wear Blue Fish Clothing is the way you feel most expresses yourself.
