All About the Laguna Beach Jeans Company

The Laguna Beach Jeans Company is a recently-founded designer jean business, launched in Los Angeles in the fall of 2007 by founders Steve and Christine Kim. Within a few short years, the company has rapidly become well-known among fashion mavens and Hollywood celebrities, and has since expanded its clothing line into shirts, jackets and hoodies. Despite this expansion, the company is still mainly known for its stylish and ornate interpretations of denim jean wear which reflect the Southern California lifestyle.

The Laguna Beach Company motto is "sun, surf & sand," and this distinctly Southern Californian ethos is unmistakably present in the design of their jeans. They are available in a variety of washes, from the somewhat dressier, darker denims to more relaxed, faded, lived-in looking pairs of jeans. Laguna Beach jeans are also embellished with prominent and intricate designs on the back pockets, and each jean design is named after a Southern California beach. The Laguna Beach style caters mostly to those who wish to achieve a relaxed look while still maintaining a certain level fashion-consciousness.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the location of the store's founding, the Laguna Beach line of jeans has been embraced by many famous film/TV and music personalities. Among the more notable celebrities who have been spotted wearing Laguna Beach denim are Britney Spears and Snoop Dogg. Celebrities who have done advertising work for the company include musicians Katy Perry and Gavin Rossdale.

Laguna Beach Jeans typically retail for $70-$200 a pair, as of May 2011. While the Los Angeles outlet is still very much open and extremely popular, shoppers can now more conveniently purchase Laguna Beach jeans from more than 500 different nationwide stores, as well as online through the actual company and through a multitude of other online retailers.
