Assembling Bunk Beds with Stairs
Assembling a bunk bed with stairs is slightly labor intensive, as you are dealing with building a structure that is usually rather large and within a small space. Make sure that the bed you have purchased will fit the dimensions of the space you are placing it in. Remember to take your time and follow the enclosed instructions.
This project should take between 1 and 3 hours.

Note: Enlist the help of a friend or family member, as this will greatly decrease the challenge of managing large, cumbersome parts.
Instructions
Clear an area in the bedroom, unpack the bunk bed and remove the packaging from the room. Locate the instructions and the hardware. Read over the instructions and identify each component of the supplied hardware. Some people find it beneficial to line up the parts in the order of assembly usage, so they can move chronologically through the various parts. Assemble the lower bunk first: attach side rails to the foot board and headboard. Make sure all bolts are tightened down securely, as this is the foundation for the upper bunk. Slide the unit into its desired location before assembling the upper bunk. Insert the lower bunk slats into the side rails. These may be simply laid into place or screwed in, refer to your instructions. Assemble the top bunk on the floor. Follow the same process as for the lower bunk, and attach the guard rails to the top bunk. Lift the top bunk into position (this is where your helper comes into play). Attach the two pieces together as per your bunk beds connecting system—many make use of a connecting pin, screw, or bolt. Lastly, assemble the ladder and attach it between the head and the guardrail.
