If you are attending an Air Force affiliated college then it would be in your best interest to look into some scholarship opportunities. The Air Force offers programs at many universities and colleges across the United States and the education and course load is rigorous and intense. However, you will gain invaluable knowledge and come out with a sense of accomplishment and achievement. Even if you don’t receive any scholarship you will still be guaranteed a job after you graduate. However, for those students looking for some financial relief, look no further than the scholarships offered through the Air Force itself. These are the best ones to look into as they pay the largest sum of money.
The Air Force offers three types of scholarships to current high school seniors. The first is a full tuition scholarship which also pays you $900 a year for books. This is offered to the top 5% of applicants and is mostly rewarded to those students studying a technical field such as engineering or chemistry. Because there is the largest need in the Air Force for these types of careers, these majors are rewarded with the best scholarship opportunity.
The second scholarship they offer pays up to $18,000 a year as well as $900 for books. Some of these are offered for three years while others are granted for all 4 years of study. If you receive a 3 year scholarship then you will receive payment beginning your sophomore year.
The last scholarship they offer is worth whatever the total is of your in-state public college tuition rate. For this scholarship you must attend one of the Army Force’s participating in-state programs. If you receive this scholarship but wish to attend a different school you may transfer this for a 3 year scholarship of the second type listed above.
Additionally, all scholarship recipients receive a monthly stipend worth $300 to $500 during their entire course of study.
