The season's curly hair looks are meant to be messy and look effortless while simultaneously looking very glamorous. So keep it messy! If you're leaving your curls down and wild, refrain from pinning down curls around your face or even straightening your bangs. Let it loose and just gently spritz some anti-frizz spray when damp. Use a hair dryer diffuser to gently dry the curls until the hair is about 2/3 dry, then use your fingers to softly separate individual curls. Products that give you "beach-like" curls are great for pulling off an effortless curly look. When you're done with this style, you'll look like a glamorous beach bum fresh from the shore.

Also in style this year are side-swept styles, like side buns and side ponytails. These styles are both casual and classy, and professional enough to be worn to work. To achieve a side bun or ponytail, gently slide your curls to one side of your face and arrange your hair right behind your ear. Be careful not to tug your hair too hard from the roots; this is a messy look. If you're going for a ponytail, fasten the bunch together with a hair tie or barrette. For a messy bun, gently fold your hair together and fasten it. Pull out some curls around your temples to frame the face. If you have bangs, leave them curly. These styles work great even with second day hair, just remember to lightly spray on some anti-frizz product to keep the style shiny and smooth.

Another messy style seen everywhere this year is the braid. These are worn loose and unkempt, often to the side, but may also be worn straight. The key is to either do a traditional three-part braid or a fishtail braid--French braids are not recommended for the loose nature of this style. To achieve the look, start off with some curl-enhancing spray and gently scrunch your hair to define the curl. Gather your hair together in your hands and begin braiding where you would normally fasten a hair tie. Keep braiding loosely and secure the braid at the bottom. The loose nature of the braid ensures some pieces will fly out or be uneven, creating an effortless look with a touch of glamour. You may also wish to gently pull on some pieces here and there to enhance this effect, or apply some texturizing product to the hair, like wax. Finish with a touch of hair spray for extra volume.

This year, naturally curly girls will rejoice at the fact that their often unkempt hair is being celebrated by models and stylists alike! Keep these wonderful style tips in mind and treat yourself to a beautiful hairstyle that will make heads turn.
