The Best Men's Ties

By Sam Feeder , last updated June 6, 2011

If there is one thing there is no shortage of, it's the number of different types of neckties men have to choose from to match their suit or dress shirt. But what are the best ties a man can buy? These are the ties for serious businessmen who need a flashy yet well-made tie that can make them look as slick as the services they are performing; or for that special occasion, like a wedding or an awards show, where nothing but the best wardrobe should be worn, as it is a once in a lifetime event. Check out the list of the best Men's ties you can buy, below.

Charvet

One of the finest necktie producers in the world is Charvet, who has been designing neckties since 1838 in a boutique in Paris. Today the manufacturer introduces 2,000 new styles and colors of neckties with the highest quality silk they can get their hands on. Each tie is woven together by hand using a 16th Century technique, so there is a unique shine and subtle, hidden color in each tie's look. With all the effort that goes into each of these fine men's neck ties, it's actually surprising they are only around $170, which is well worth the money to many high-rolling suits.

Ermenegildo Zegna

Known around the world as one of the finest clothing designers, this Italian couture empire is also known for constructing some of the finest men's ties on the planet. All ties are hand made and woven together from one hundred percent premium silk, making their ties as soft and smooth as any that are available in the entire world. As far as styling goes, these ties vary from their earliest designs, which they were spinning, and selling in 1910, when the company began, to more modern-cut ties that have been featured in favorite glossy men's magazines, like GQ and Esquire. There are also a wide variety of colors and simple to complex designs, allowing the Ermenegildo Zegna tie to work with any fashionable suit or dress shirt. The double cave weaving of the ties also makes them more firm then other fine men's ties which are sold, helping them to maintain their shape over a long day of work or a raucous event. These ties are a steal for most suits that wear the finest clothing, at $100 each retail.

Roger Talbot

An American tie maker from Carmel, California, Roger Talbot has become known as one of the best tie makers in the world over the past 38 years, as he has done his due diligence and travelled far and wide to find the best silks and fabrics and incorporate them into each of his ties. He uses specific mills to weave the unique designs on his ties, adding to their attractively paired combination of colors. As everything is hand made in the fine tie industry, Robert Talbot goes a step further, allowing customers to order custom made ties to match their suit like no other tie ever could. While the custom-made ties are quite a bit more expensive, most Roger Talbot ties are $125 retail.
