Weight benches for home gyms come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. If you are like most people shopping around for a weight bench, you are likely to be a bit confused with so many selections. This article will help reduce some of that confusion and show you where some of the best places are to buy weight benches for a home gym. These benches range from a simple bench to one with an adjustable headrest to some truly complex contraptions. There’s sure to be one on the Internet to your liking.

Dick’s Sporting Goods

Dick’s Sporting Goods store is one of the premier big box stores for all things exercise and sports. They sell a range of weight benches to match their reputation. Their top seller is the Marcy Olympic Bench. At $249, it is all you can want in a weight bench. The Marcy Olympic Bench comes with an adjustable curl bicep pad. It has a dual function leg apparatus designed to work both calves and thigh muscles and dual steel pylons for resting your weights on. Those pylons also double as a reverse walk in squat, so you can do squats as well. Dick’s Sporting Goods sells 48 different varieties of weight benches, at prices ranging from $54.99 for their Apex Slant Board to $499.99 for their Cam Series AB Back Machine Bench. The Apex Slant Board is a simple board with three adjustable heights so you can do inclined sit ups with the same piece of equipment.

Walmart

For the budget conscious shopper, Walmart can provide you good options for cheap weight bench options. Despite their cheap prices, Walmart’s best seller is the Bowflex 5.1 Weight Bench, which comes in at $500. Their cheapest bench is the simple preacher pad from Gold’s Gym, at $19.99. It will not do you much and is generally used as an addition for many larger gym apparatuses. Walmart even has some full home gym machines, including their Bodycraft and Yukon lines, which have benches included. These are in the $1000 to $2000 price range.

Amazon

Amazon.com, the massive Internet vendor, is also a good location to purchase weight benches for your home gym. You can find pretty much any product offered by the other vendors on Amazon. Their shipping prices are decent too, and they often offer free shipping when you spend a certain quantity of money.

Sports Authority

Sports Authority has a good selection of home weight equipment, with 78 items in total that they carry on their shelves. They carry the fantastically popular Marcy line benches, including the Marcy Diamond 1-Piece Mid-size Bench for $169. This Marcy bench has a dual function leg developer, a back pad that drops to an incline for harder workouts, a bicep curl pad, a preacher bench, and two metal pylons, including an adjustable weight bar for all your lifting needs. Sports Authority also sells a stripped down version of this product, the Elite Fitness Work Bench, for $69.99. The Elite Fitness Work Bench is their top seller. However, it does not have all the functionality of the Marcy Weight Bench, for instance the bench only inclines and does not decline, but it will get the job done!
