Vegas is home to a number of world championships in auto racing, mixed martial arts, and rodeo. Plus, Las Vegas is the boxing capital of the world and has been for decades. Fights
If you're an old fashioned boxing fan, then Las Vegas is the city for you. Las Vegas holds professional, amateur, and even college matches all throughout the year, including many title fights. You can watch your favorite boxers beat each other senseless in high profile fights held in huge, luxurious stadiums at the MGM Grand or Caesar's Palace.
Las Vegas is also home to many of the Ultimate Fighting Championship's mixed martial arts fights. MMA has become even more popular than boxing in the United States and you can watch experts in Capoeira and Muay Thai kick it out in the same rings where normal boxing matches are held. One of the UFC's most popular events is held in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on New Year's Eve. Rodeo
Both the National Finals Rodeo and the Professional Bull Riders World Final are held every year in Las Vegas. The National Finals Rodeo features barrel racing, reining, bronco busting, and all sorts of other events over several days in December. You can buy tickets to specific events or to the entire Finals. Come to watch men and women speed around on horses and tie calves. The Professional Bull Riders World Final is held in October. This event involves not only the most talented bull riders, but also the most dangerous bulls in the entire world. You can watch the bull riders compete with one another for a shot at a million bucks.
Auto Racing
Las Vegas is home to several races in the NASCAR Nextel Cup series. These stock car races are held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. You can often catch a pair of races in a single weekend, and most of the races include fun extras like face painting and live music that your entire family can enjoy. Sometimes, you can even meet the drivers. You'll need to buy your NASCAR tickets in advance, especially if you hope to benefit from a military or children's discount.
