ASISCS was founded by Kihachio Onitsuka by the Onitsuka Co. Ltd. which has been in establishment since 1949. ASICS was founded in 1977 as an acronym for “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano,” which translates from Latin as “A Sound Mind in a Sound Body.” All the research of ASICS sneakers are conducted in Kobe before reaching Tokyo where products are put to test.
