Decorating Your Bathroom with an Underwater Theme
An underwater theme is cool for any bathroom. Whether you want it to be a fun bathroom for your kids so that they are more motivated to brush their teeth and take a bath or for an adult bathroom to be used as a water wonderland fantasy escape, you will enjoy it!
The first thing to make themed would be the toilet (let’s face it, it really is the main function of the room). You can buy a full on ocean themed toilet. If that’s too much for you another option is to buy a toilet in the color blue and just buy the toilet seat and lid in an ocean theme or even a toilet seat cover in the theme (that way if you get sick of the theme one day or just want to change things up it is easily removable).
The next important feature in the bathroom is the shower/tub. Add a fun ocean shower curtain with shell or fish sculpted shower rings. Do not forget to get fanciful tub mats, bathroom rugs and towels to match. If you have small kids decorate the tub with under the sea bath time toys. You can even get soaps in fun shapes to go along with the theme.
Another idea is to paint an ocean mural on the walls. The kids will love this and go crazy over it. If you are not that artistic, hire a professional muralist to come in and paint it for you. If you do not feel like painting or want a more sophisticated look, go for ocean wallpaper.
An ocean mosaic tiled sink and counter would be a fun addition to the room and would add some excitement to washing your hands and face every day. You can also get a matching mosaic mirror or a shell mirror to hang above it. Make the counter covered in ocean details such as the toothbrush holder, hand soap dispenser, tissue box cover and water cup.
