If you are constantly being reminded by your parents, spouse or roommates to make your bed in the morning, what follows should be helpful because it is a few tips and ideas on how you can make your bed in the fastest way possible. If you are currently in the situation that is described above, or are simply just trying to make a good effort to make your room look better, you can view making your bed in one of two ways. Either the glass is half empty, and making your bed is a redundant activity that only looks good for a little while, or it is half full, and making your bed is an important distinction between a clean and a messy room.
No matter what, making your bed every day is going to make you feel better about yourself, and you will learn to appreciate getting into a made bed in your room every night. Not only will making your bed regularly improve the way your room looks at night, but also it will add structure to your life and quickly become a part of the waking up process after a few mornings of practice. Eventually, making your bed should become almost an unconscious activity once you have done it enough.
The first thing you are going to do if you want to make your bed speedily and efficiently every morning is to make sure that you have the right bedding for your mattress and lifestyle. In terms of having the right bedding for your mattress, this is fairly straightforward; just make sure that the mattress sheet fits over it perfectly so it won’t fall off constantly. Not only will having the perfect mattress sheet help you make your bed faster, but also you won’t wake up in the middle of the night to a set of disheveled sheets. In terms of having the correct bedding for your lifestyle, this means to keep it simple if you know consistently making your bed is going to be a tough thing to accomplish. If you are the type of person who fights making their bed every day, but wants to change your habit, keep your bed as minimalist as possible, just pillows, sheets, and a blanket. Having the minimal amount of bedding will make your bed easy to make, and therefore fast too.
In the event you miss a day, having only the minimal amount of bedding not made should not look too bad either. On the other hand, if you are the type of person who wants their bed to look extremely inviting, feel free to get a bed skirt and extra throw pillows too. Of course, having these extra frills on your bed may increase the amount of time it takes for you to make your bed in the morning, but if it fits your personality then go for it!
Regardless of your bedding, daily bed maintenance will help it keep from being messy when company arrives!
