Awarding nearly 5,000 separate scholarships per year, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund is one of the first places to search for Hispanic scholarships. It offers financial aid to Hispanic high school students that are applying to four year universities, but it also extends this opportunity to Hispanic students that are currently enrolled in a community college and looking to transfer to a four year program. The HSF also offers literature and training programs for those who are just beginning their look into higher education opportunities.
The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute offers several scholarships to Hispanic students that have demonstrated leadership in their education and their communities. Designed to provide critical financial assistance to Hispanic students enrolled in secondary educational institutes, the CHCI offers one time scholarships in increments of one thousand dollars, twenty-five hundred dollars and five thousand dollars. These funds can be used on everything including tuition costs, room and board, or even textbooks and other common educational costs. In addition to demonstrating excellent grades, students must also demonstrate financial need in order to be eligible to receive financial aid.
