Choosing the right flooring surface for your home can be a difficult decision. There are numerous different flooring options that can be used to enhance the look of a room. The rooms in your home that are frequently in use require flooring that is durable so it stands up to the constant use. Flooring surfaces range in price and ease of installation so make sure you research which flooring option in best for you. Here are a few durable flooring options for high-traffic rooms.

Ceramic tile is one of the most durable and affordable flooring options for your home. Made from a mixture of clay and stone, ceramic tiles have the look of real stone without the real stone price. Tiles are easy to maintain and are very resistant to spills and stains so they are perfect for kitchens or bathrooms where water will likely end up on the floor. Tiles come in a variety of colors and textures that can match the look of your room. Tiles also come in a range of thicknesses so a more heavy duty tile would be better suited for a high traffic room.

Natural hardwood is another flooring option that can really enhance the look of a room. While hardwood is a more expensive option, the look and durability make it a popular flooring material. There are many different types of hardwood ranging from common trees such as Maple or Oak to more exotic options such as Brazilian Walnut. Hardwood floors can also be refinished after a few years to refresh the look of the floor. Hardwood floors are more susceptible to water damage so they are not ideal for bathrooms.

Laminate flooring is the most affordable option and can also look good as well. Laminate is much cheaper than wood or stone and it is much easier to install. Laminate flooring comes in pieces that can be locked together for quick and easy installation. Each piece features a layer of fiberboard with a pattern layer printed on top. Laminate is durable and cheap, but is susceptible to stains and other forms of wear and tear.
