Forth of July is a great time to party with family and friends to celebrate our independence and freedom. It’s the time of year we like to showcase our patriotism while enjoying some good company and food. Nothing blends the two like some themed desserts. You can make some desserts decorated in red, white and blue that will also be tasty treats. Here are a few dessert ideas for this Forth of July.
1 Box of Red Velvet Cake Mix
16 Ounces Whipped Topping
2 Pints of Blueberries
1 Pint of Strawberries, tops removed and halved
Trifle Bowl
First, bake your red velvet mix using the directions stated on the box. When finished allow to cool, then cut it into 1 inch squares. Line the bottom of your bowl with half your squares. Follow this by placing a 2 inch layer of whipped topping on top of the cake squares. Layer about 1 ½ pints of blueberry on the whipped topping. Use the remaining cake squares to form another layer of red velvet followed by another layer of the remaining whipped topping. Place the strawberries along the perimeter of the cake with the cut side facing down. Finally, add in the remaining blueberries within the strawberries and enjoy your trifle!
8 McIntosh Apples
8 Craft Sticks
2 Cups of Sugar
½ Cup of Corn Syrup
¾ Cup Water
¼ tsp. Ground Cinnamon
10 Drops Red Food Coloring
