Great Father's Day Gift Ideas for the Dad Who Loves Soccer

When Father’s Day approaches, shopping for the dad who loves soccer can seem difficult. Many soccer-fans have seemingly everything you could ever own that relates to their sport of choice, making the pressure to find the right gift even higher than it might otherwise be. The truth is, there are plenty of soccer-themed Father’s Day gifts that don’t necessarily fall into the category of being obvious choices. By purchasing one of the following, you can be sure to make your dad happy on the day he matters most.

Fair-Trade Soccer Ball

While most soccer fans are likely to have a soccer ball in the house, chances are that it isn’t made out of Fair-Trade materials. One of the best way to surprise your dad with an environmentally and ethical friendly gift this Father’s Day is to buy him a Fair-Trade soccer ball. While these soccer balls are perfect for using during a game, they can also be used for display, as they make excellent conversational pieces.

Soccer Cleats

If your dad not only likes to watch soccer but play it as well, there’s no better Father’s Day gift than a nice pair of soccer cleats. Once one’s interest in playing the game begins to increase, having a good-quality pair of cleats becomes more and more necessary. While cleats can be expensive, it’s more than possible to find a good pair without having to break the bank. If your dad doesn’t mind used items, shopping for cleats at a second-hand store is a great way to save money without having to sacrifice quality.

Commemorative Jerseys

Soccer fans are a proud bunch, and anyone who has a favorite player will be extremely happy to receive the player’s jersey design for a Father’s Day gift. Depending upon the popularity of the player, it can be easy to difficult to track down the jersey. The time spent trying to find it will be worthwhile when you see the smile on your father’s face, however.

Practice Net

Many soccer fans would like to get out and play more, yet simply don’t have the time or resources that allow for it. If this is the case for your dad, a practice net will make for an excellent gift. Practice nets can be placed in the backyard, and can often be broken down and set back up within a matter of minutes. Be wary when purchasing a practice net, however, as it is important that it be made out of high-quality materials. If the price of the item seems too good to be true, it likely is and should be avoided.

Game Tickets

There’s nothing better for a soccer fan than being able to go to a game and watch it in person. If you can somehow acquire tickets to one of your dad’s favorite team’s games, you’ll be met with high praise when you give them to him on Father’s Day. Plan on going with him and making a night out of it, which can include dinner and exploration in a new city.
