Hosting a great Star Trek birthday party doesn’t have to be as hard as arm-wrestling a Klingon. Star Trek parties can be fun, inexpensive, and memorable; if you use your imagination, the possibilities are endless!
Buy invitations with Star Trek or space motif designs. Or make homemade invitations using free clipart from the internet. Choose star, comet, planet, or spaceship art. Consider asking party guests to come in costume.
As the party host, it's appropriate if you and your child wear a costume. Buy Star Trek costumes, or make one with materials from a thrift store or clothing you already own. Women and girls can wear a solid blue or red knit dress and long boots or black tights, while men and boys can wear slim black pants and a solid colored top. Have extra pairs of Spock ears on hand for guests without costumes.
Hang a big sign over your door saying "Welcome to Space, the Final Frontier." Line the walls with black paper or plastic tablecloths. Hang Christmas lights as stars and make planets and spaceships out of construction paper. Display plastic space ship models around the room.
Buy foam balls and craft supplies and let children create their own planets. Have each child explain their planet and vote on the most creative one. Order a piñata online and let children take turns hitting it in the backyard. Play "Pin the Ears on Spock." Blindfold guests and let them tape Vulcan ears on a picture of Spock.
Prepare a bowl of punch and include a block of dry ice to dazzle the children with presentation. Cut out cookies or even sandwiches in moon and star shapes. Bake a sheet cake and decorate it as a spaceship. Serve pizza and light blue-colored soft drinks and call it Romulan Ale. Be creative!
With just a few simple decorations and ideas, you’ll be reaching warp factor fun in no time!
