If a quick peek in the mirror shows you dull, drab locks, it's time to learn how to give your hair more shine. Hair that's healthy, glossy and shiny is absolutely hypnotic and it's almost guaranteed to make you feel gorgeous. Kicking up your shine a notch or two is very easy, and you may be able to help your hair with products you already have in the kitchen cupboard.
Sometimes, your hair looks dull and drab because the hair shafts are coated with a thick layer of conditioner and hairspray. Combine 1 liter of water with 1 teaspoon of vinegar and pour this over your hair. Pay special attention to the roots of your hair. Shampoo normally, and remember to cut back on the products. Apply conditioner only to the tips of your hair so your scalp doesn't get coated with conditioner on a daily basis. Once per week, treat your hair to a deep-conditioning treatment. You can buy a product at the store to do this, or you can make your own by combining 2 tablespoons of almond or sunflower oil. Apply the treatment to the tips of your hair and cover your hair with a layer of tinfoil and a towel. Shampoo after 20 to 30 minutes.
Coloring your hair can damage it and cause it to look dull and broken. Using a natural hair color such as henna can both color your hair and boost its shine. Mix the henna according to the package instructions, and add a tablespoon of olive oil to the mixture if your hair is very dry. Leave the henna treatment on for at least an hour, longer if your hair has grey strands you're trying to cover. The henna will provide even coverage and bright shine, especially when you apply the treatment regularly.
