A good start to any vegan snack table is different spreads of hummus and assorted dipping options. You can purchase hummus at your local supermarket or make it yourself. Place some celery stalks, baby carrots, or tortilla chips next to it and watch that hummus disappear! Speaking of tortilla chips, why not make some vegan nachos. All you need to do is gather refried beans, onions, black olives, and vegan cheese and spread them on top of a bed of tortillas. Then just throw those nachos in the oven and when heated up, take it out and add some guacamole and tofu sour cream.

Sweet Treat

Nothing rings in a birthday celebration more than sweet treats. Unlike with most desserts, vegan treats cannot be made with any eggs or other dairy products. Not to worry! There are plenty of alternatives you can use to make a delicious vegan cookies or cakes. Instead of eggs, try using applesauce. If a recipe calls for milk, simply replace it with soymilk or soy yogurt. Also, instead of butter, use a vegetable margarine or oil. Make sure when making substitutions you watch out for low or non-fat items, as generally these are unsuitable for desserts.
