How to Wear Aqua Eyeliner

Many women are intimidated by the idea of wearing a shade of eyeliner that is different than the traditional black or brown, especially a drastic color such as aqua. However, a drastic shade could be just what you need to make your eyes pop. You want to make sure that when you are using it, you use it properly so that it compliments you rather than takes away.

First, aqua eyeliner can look good on anyone, regardless of their eye color, though it does look best on individuals with brown or green eyes. Blue eyes can pull it off as well but it has to be applied properly. When applying, decide whether or not you want to wear it on both the bottom and the top or just on the top. Which one you choose will decide what the finished product says. Surrounding your eye in eyeliner creates a more dramatic, made-up look. Applying it only on the top will help to highlight your eyes while still looking relatively low key. Be careful with surrounding your entire eye, as it can often make your eyes appear smaller and less attractive.

A great way to make your eyes pop while still using the aqua is by applying a dark liner very close to your eyelashes before applying the aqua over top. This will help to make your eyelashes look darker but won't be enough to detract from the aqua eyeliner. Apply it relatively thin in the corners of your eyes and gradually enlarge the eyeliner line, as you get closer to the end of your eyes. This will help to elongate your eyes. Again, don't apply the dark eyeliner on the bottom as well, as this will shrink your eyes. If you want to apply on the bottom, apply beneath the eyelashes rather than overtop. This will help to open the eyes.
