How to Wear Crystal Bridal Accessories

On your wedding day, why not match your inner radiance with some crystal accessories to make your ensemble truly sparkle? Your ring doesn't have to be your shiniest accessory; a crystal hair piece can function like jewelry. Regardless of whether you choose to wear a veil or not, crystal hair accessories will dazzle your ‘do. If you do wear a veil to the ceremony, you can later adorn your hair with an accessory. There are myriad options to choose from, including traditional tiaras, studded hair sticks, dainty headbands, hair combs and barrettes. The choice is yours. Perhaps you might opt to don an heirloom piece as your “something old.” Or adorn your tresses with an accessory that has a hint of blue for you “something blue.” No matter which ornament you choose, make sure you bring it with you to your hair trial appointment. This way your stylist can figure out the best placement. Here are some beautiful options you might consider for your wedding day.

Tiaras

These can be a simple strand of crystals worn at the crown of an updo, or they can be encrusted with jewels befitting a royal affair or fairy tale. Keep in mind, you don’t want your tiara competing or clashing with your wedding dress. So, if your dress has a lot of embellishments, keep your tiara on the simpler side and conversely, if your gown is plain you can get away with a more elaborate tiara.

Hairpins

When you want to adorn your style with just a bit of sparkle, these do an elegant job. If you decide on wearing an updo, a few crystal hairpins clustered one side of your head make a beautiful statement.

Hair Vine

This is closely related to a headband, but looks like a delicate vine with leaves or flowers. It’s often made on a wire, so it’s flexible enough to place wherever you want on your head. You can wear it as you would a headband across your head, or, have it rim a bun or wrap it around a ponytail.

Headbands

Depending on your style, these run the gamut. Perhaps you might opt for a simple strand of crystals and pair it with an updo. If you’re wearing your hair down and loose, a crystal floral band or one decorated with a crystal bow would be a classic option. Maybe you’d prefer going the old route with an antique piece that looks more like a piece of jewelry. An ornate headband can function as a tiara, but without the height.

Hair Combs

There are many options for wearing combs. You can place a single comb on one side of your head for just a hint of sparkle. Or wear a comb on either side of your head so you sparkle everywhere. You can even attach your veil to a comb and wear it on top of your head to make the comb more prominent.
