Melon nail polish is a summer favorite for toes. As the weather heats up and sandals and open toed shoes become ubiquitous, pedicures are a must. Many melon nail polishes are loudly colored and are well suited for a toenail polish color. If you are doing a DIY pedicure, keep in mind that mistakes tend to show up more when using darker colors, so those without a steady hand may want to stick to lighter melon colors. If you're painting your toes the night before, however, any drips that end up running onto your skin will usually come off with a good soak in the shower the next day.

Melon Polishes for Manicures

When using melon nail polishes for a manicure, peachy tones are a bit demure. They often contrast well with and really pop against darker and more bronzed skin tones, so you may want to save the cantaloupe polish for later in the summer season. Watermelon polish is more universally flattering and its hot pink tones add a bit of sass to any summer outfit. While any color you like will fly on summer vacation, if you work in a conservative workplace, it may be fitting to tone down the bright colors a bit. You can do this by selecting more muted melon polishes or even experiment with mixing. You can try adding a bit of white or neutral colored polish to a bit of bright melon polish to create your own color that packs a bit of melon punch.
