How to Wear a Sweetheart Neckline

Sweetheart necklines have the potential to be absolutely stunning. The problem with this type of neckline, however, is that it can easily go downhill if it isn't worn properly. There are a few things to keep in mind when shopping for a sweetheart neckline and when wearing one. When shopping for this type of neckline, make sure that it fits properly. Because it is usually a strapless dress or top, if it is too tight or too big, it can easily detract from your overall look. Too tight creates problem areas where they may not have existed before. Too big means that you will constantly be pulling at it, which can appear extremely unattractive.

When it comes to actually wearing a sweetheart neckline, you will need to keep a few things in mind. You will have to make sure that you take into consideration your hairstyle and the way you accessorize it. If the top of the dress is covered in embellishments, whether it be sequins or beading, you will want to consider having an up-do. This will allow all the attention to be on your dress rather than your hair. That is not to say that you cannot have a gorgeous hairstyle simply because you want all the attention on your dress, it simply means that it will allow the neckline to be completely in view. The amount of embellishments will also determine what type of accessories you wish to go with. The fancier the dress, the more simple your accessories should be. You don't want to overdo it. However, if the neckline is simple and doesn't have much decoration, then you should consider wearing a long necklace, perhaps one that actually descends low enough that a part of it is hidden in the neckline. This will draw attention to the neckline while also being suggestive in a classy way.

The success or failure of this type of dress is determined by whether or not you were able to achieve the perfect balance between the dress and everything else.
