A vintage-inspired wedding evokes the feeling of romance and charm, and so should the wedding decorations.
Collect a number of small toys, bits of jewelry or ornaments in the vintage style that you want for your wedding. Not all the items must actually be vintage but they should be things that enhance the look you’re going for. To connect all the seemingly mismatched items, spray paint them all in the same ivory tone. You can add a bit of antiquing when the object are dry, or leave them pristine. Arrange large and small items on you tables with a simple bouquet of flowers in a vintage white vase as the focal point.
Mixing candles and paper is not always a good idea, but with flameless candles you can create elegant vintage looking luminaries to grace your wedding table at any season. Select sheets of vintage-style paper from the craft store and stencil a design across the width of the paper. Choose a stencil design and color that enhances your vintage theme and coordinates with your other wedding décor. Fold the paper accordion style. Bring the two open ends of paper together to form a column and tape them into place with double-sided tape. Use smaller and larger pieces of paper to create an interesting variety in height and arrange the luminaries on the table with a flameless candle nestled inside.
Adorn the tables at your vintage-themed wedding with black and white photos of the bride and groom, framed in vintage-style silver frames. Mix childhood photos (if the couple is old enough to have black and white photos from their childhood) with a current picture of them taken with black and white film. Or, apply black and white or sepia tones to digital photos with computer software.
