There are many tremendously famous boarding schools in America that offer both a welcoming and nurturing educational environment and a well-rounded and rigorous academic setting. Boarding schools are highly selective and are notorious for accepting only a small fraction of all their applicants. This high demand makes them a very popular choice, as students who attend boarding school are said to have a better chance at getting into prestigious universities. There are many boarding schools in the United States and all are known for providing excellent educational opportunities, but listed below are a few of the most famous boarding schools in the country.

Phillips Exeter

The Exeter Academy is one of the more famous boarding schools in the entire world. The Exeter name is synonymous with excellence, as the school has a long tradition of molding exceptional students and alumni. There are over 1,000 students in grades 9 through 12, as well as some studying at the post-graduate level. Exeter's curriculum is unmatched by any other program, as they offer over 450 courses in 19 different subject areas. The small class sizes help students learn at a more comprehensive and quicker rate, and the student to teacher ratio is 5:1. Phillips Andover

Phillips Andover is another one of the more prominent and prolific boarding schools in the country. With a student body of nearly 800 students from over 34 countries, this boarding school is well known for its diversity and open-mindedness. They offer over 300 courses, as well as 150 electives, so students are given every opportunity to discover new, appealing subjects. Milton Academy

The Milton Academy is a full-service boarding school for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Although they have studies for this entire grade range, the school is broken up into two brackets: the K through 8 grade school, and the upper school for grades 9 through 12. Having been around since the late 1700’s, Milton Academy is one of the more well-respected and well-known schools in America. The mission of the Milton Academy is to open up student’s mind and nurture creativity so that they can develop a fuller understanding of themselves.
