The most popular women's boots this season add versatility and style to every outfit. There are a myriad of options to choose from, whether it's a low heel or high, and ankle boot or the ever-popular and sexy thigh-high boot. This winter, use this as a guide to finding the perfect boot collection to pair with your winter outfits.
Over the Knee and Thigh-High Boots
The best over the knee and thigh high boots hug your your calf, showcasing the curve of your leg while also slimming your figure. For day, over the knee boots in soft suedes work well with dresses and pants. Opt for a low heel or flats, especially if you are constantly on your feet throughout the day. Look for a style that stands on its own without being held up: these are the boots that won't sag on your leg or scrunch up while you walk. One of the hottest boot trends this season is the fold over boot. This easy little trick makes double the amount of styles, multiplying your wardrobe with a single flick of the wrist. Fold over boots with a tapered toe and a low heel looks great with dresses, while a flatter heel is perfect to wear over tucked-in jeans or thick, textured leggings. With suede boots, often a darker hue works best, especially if you're opting for a high level of versatility.
Booties and Ankle Boots
This season's booties call on the summer wedge trend: many of the heels are chunkier and curved. Booties are best for nighttime, as they protect your feet from the cold while still dressing up a night outfit. Slightly different are ankle boots, which travel higher on the ankle and generally have a chunkier frame than booties. Ankle boots in low or high heels are more appropriate for day, though for a casual evening they work beautifully. Pair ankle boots with knit tights and a hip-hugging skirt for a gorgeous winter look.
Casual Boots
For every day wear, leather boots in a mid-height are best. These are the boots that may be worn everyday, with all outfits, in all weather. Distressed leather is in this season, as well as big buckles, wide, straight shafts, and exposed zippers. Generally, low heels are usually best with this versatile boot. A chocolate brown may be paired with any outfit, as well as a black with distressed gray or brown accents. For an alternative look, try a weathered tan boot, or a light gray.
Rain Boots
Rain boots have enjoyed major popularity in the last few years, with designers exploding with new patterns and designs to thrill their rain-soaked customers. The best rain boots have a tapered toe, and a contoured shaft designed to fit your calf flatteringly. If you're not a fan of intricate patterns and wild colors, many rain boots now have solid, muted colors like black, dark blue, and forest green. Alternatively, you can opt for bright, neon colors like bright pinks and yellows.
