If you are planning a fun party for your friends and family this New Year’s Eve, what follows are some tips and ideas to make sure that your party goes off without a hitch. New Year’s Eve can be a lot of fun, but it can also can be a time fraught with unexpected complications; be sure to plan ahead to ensure that your party goes off without a hitch.

Drinking

At most New Year's Eve parties, drinking is a big component. However, as much fun as drinking can be sometimes, there are some serious things to consider when throwing your New Year's Eve Party. If, for instance you live in a rural area, and people are going to be traveling to your place, make sure that there is at least one designated driver for every car. It is also a good idea to make a space for some people to spend the night in the event they party a little too hard and cannot make it home. One of the quickest ways to ruin an otherwise great evening is to have a friend be pulled over for drunk driving, or even worse, getting into an accident. Always make sure that you make taxi company phone numbers available to prevent this!

Activities

If you are hosting a New Year's Eve party, break things up with some scheduled activities. Not only will the designated drivers appreciate this, they can be a lot of fun too! Rent or purchase a karaoke machine and belt out some tunes with your friends, or plan to watch the Waterford Crystal ball drop in New York at midnight. Another great aspect of New Year's Eve is that people around the world are celebrating it too, so every hour some notable event is sure to take place that everyone can enjoy watching! Finally, no New Year's Eve party is complete without some party toys or noise makers, so make sure to stock up that way nobody is left out!
