How to Protect Ferns From Freezing

Ferns add a lush, green look to your landscape, but like many plants they need protection in freezing temperatures. The specific type of fern you have on your property affects how susceptible it is to freezing. Some ferns are considered hardy in cold temperatures and won't need as much protection. If you aren't sure how well your plants will stand up to freezing temperatures, take basic precautions to protect the plant so it comes back full and green in the spring.
