Refreshing Your Home Office

Is your den or home office dark, drab, and in desperate need of a facelift to make it more refreshing? There are many ways to easily refresh your home office to make it more appealing for you so that you are less likely to doze off or dread the time you need to spend in front of the computer. Some ways to refresh your home office include a new coat of paint, re-arranging the furniture, and adding some accessories like area rugs, scented candles and plants. All of these are ways to take your den from lifeless and boring to lively and cozy.

If it has been a while since you painted your home office and re-arranged the furniture then this is one way to refresh the space. Consider the furniture and color scheme when choosing paint. You will need to pick your color, purchase the paint, tape, rollers, brushes and trays, prepare the room, and get to work. Once the paint job is complete, you can change the furniture arrangement in the room. Re-arranging the furniture in your home office is an easy way to freshen up the room, and give a whole new look to an outdated space.

To add character to your den, place plants and scented candles on the shelves and the desk. You can purchase plat hangers and plant stands to update the room by adding some live foliage. If you don't have a very green thumb then fake plants will have the same effect without the caretaking aspect that comes with live plants. Candles will not only make your home office comfy, but will literally refresh the space with a variety of pleasing scents. Be careful not to ever leave the candles burning when you are not in the room, and watch where you place them so that they are away from curtains and other potential fire hazards. Following these simple tips will give a new refreshed look to your old boring home office space.
