Anyone who wears makeup knows just how problematic it can be in regards to staining. When makeup smudges or is applied incorrectly, it can quickly and easily stain practically any type of clothing. Fortunately, a makeup stain does not need to be permanent, and can often be removed completely when the job is approached within short order. By adhering to the following tips, you can remove makeup stains without having to worry about your clothes getting ruined.

Take Action Quickly

When stains set in, time is of the essence. The faster you act, the better chance you have of getting rid of stains on your clothing, no matter how big or small they may be. Those who choose to throw their clothes in the wash rather than to approach the stain situation immediately are likely to run into problems. The faster you act, the better chance you have of removing the stain completely.

Use the Right Chemical

There are plenty of chemicals on the market that claim to take care of stains; whether or not you use the right one will have a rather large impact on how easy it is to get the makeup stain off of your clothing. The general rule of thumb is to use a chemical that is meant specifically for stain removal rather than one that claims to be able to remove stains but is actually meant for a variety of different functions. When choosing which chemical to use, ensure that you read the label to determine what it is most often used for.

Take Preventative Measures

While it is important to understand how to remove stains from your clothing, it is equally important to take measures that will prevent staining from happening in the first place. Always allow your makeup to dry fully before changing clothes, and put your clothes on before you apply your makeup to avoid smudging.
