Aluminum foil pans are a necessity for restaurants, caterers, people who are throwing big parties or simple those who want to bake cakes for their friends' birthdays! They are used for roasting, baking and serving. Many restaurants will have these items in tow for take-out or what is known commonly as "doggy bags."
When shopping for aluminum foil pans, take into consideration exactly what you need them for. Are you a restaurateur who requires containers to send your diners off with their meals, or are you simply serving food in them, as in a party for lots of people at your home? If you are in the latter category, then you probably won't need many pans.
Be a smart shopper. Do your research. You will want to have the strongest pans and take comfort that the ones you eventually buy will be durable enough that they can store your dishes, whether they are hot or cold. You will also want the pans to stay intact and not tear; otherwise you will have a great mess on your hands, not to mention your tablecloth!
You will no doubt want to reuse your aluminum pans, at least for a few more times. Hefty EZ seems to be a popular brand, and they are reasonably priced. You can find these at any major supermarket chain. You can cook your food in the pans and then store the leftovers in them in the fridge. Aluminum pans are easy to wash. However, be gentle when cleaning them to ensure they don't tear or bend out of shape. Use a gentle dishwashing liquid with a clean sponge. It's best to avoid using a steel wool (or "Brillo") pad, as this will scratch the aluminum.
Another great use for aluminum foil pans is to bring food to other people, and you don't necessarily have to be a caterer to do that. If you have a friend or family member in the hospital and they aren't fond of hospital food, you can surprise them by bringing their favorite dish in a pan. They may even be able to keep the leftovers for another meal!
