Shopping for Leave in Conditioner for Curly Hair

If you have curly hair, you may already know the importance of the leave-in conditioner and use one on a regular basis. However, if you do not, you should begin to do so as a leave in conditioner is essential for those with curly hair.

A leave in conditioner may be known to you by a variety of other names including as a de-tangler, but essentially, leave in conditioners operate as a means of adding moisture for hair, and for curly hair, giving it body, sheen, and subtracting the frizz factor that becomes all so common. By strengthening the hair itself, it allows it to look and be healthier. Unlike with normal conditioner, which is only partially effective due to the fact that it is rinsed out, leave in conditioner allows hair to soak in all of the benefits over a prolonged amount of time. Though most people can benefit from a leave in conditioner, it is especially those with curly hair who need it as often curly haired people leave their hair to dry un-styled and the thickness of their hair also makes it more difficult to condition the entire head.

However, when shopping for a leave in conditioner, there is an array of options out there, so many that at times it can be hard and confusing to weed through all of the stellar options out there.

A great option is Bumble and Bumble's Leave in Conditioner, priced at $28. Though it is expensive, Bumble and Bumble are a renowned line known for their prowess in the world of professional hair care. The product, though suited for anyone, also works well with curly hair and promises to aid in moisturizing, taming frizz, and softening while not weighing hair down. It is gently enough even to be used daily.

If that is out of your price range though, try Herbal Essences None of Your Frizzness Smoothing Leave-In Crème, a superb bargain with excellent bang for your buck. While some may be skeptical of its neon orange packaging and drug store origins, Herbal Essences has been gaining traction of recent, especially with this line. If you are someone who tends to use a lot of product, this is also great because you will not feel guilty for heaping on the stuff as this is only $3.99 a bottle and incredibly easy to find at your local drugstore - can you say awesome? Another great cheapie is Aussie's Sydney Smooth Heat Protector Plus Leave-in Spray, perfect for those curly haired girls addicted to the flat iron. This does double duty then, cutting down frizz to prepare for the heat while moisturizing to the max.

Whatever your choice of product though, remember to read the instructions. Some leave in conditioners are only met to be used once or twice a week and some are meant to only be left in for a specific amount of time. While not reading the specific instructions will not lead to abject failure, your results may certainly be hindered at least a little.
