If you are a skateboarder or just a person looking for a well-designed, functional backpack with pockets and straps galore, then you are considering a Nike SB Backpack. The Nike SB or Nike Skateboarding line was launched in 2002 at the peak of the latest skateboarding trend. College campuses abound with students carrying the requisite load of books, electronics, clothing, and yes, skateboards, to and from class. Enter the Nike SB Backpack.
There are two versions of the Nike SB Backpack. The SB Backpack II is the latest update from the original SB Backpack. The SB Daypack Backpack is a paired-down version, more in keeping with traditional daypacks one might see around campus or town. There is one important thing to remember: the daypack is for books, clothing and maybe a small laptop. If you've got a skateboard, you'll want the SB Backpack original, or SB Backpack II.
You'll find more pockets and straps than you'll know what to do with in both generations of SB Backpacks. Unless you're looking for a bargain on eBay or a store closeout, make sure you shop for the improved, SB Backpack II. Most notably, on the front, are two clip-on straps that will secure your skateboard. Both sides feature a fleece-lined pocket to protect electronic screens and water bottle pockets with a cinch strap. There is an organizer pocket in the front and a large, main compartment with two mesh pockets, inside. You'll even find a small hole that allows for an earphone cable. A padded rear-entry pocket is great for a 15"-17" laptop.
With a name like Nike, you can expect top quality in the SB Backpack. For you bargain-hunters, make sure you focus on the details that this backpack has to offer so you don't wind up with a low-cost knockoff.
