Shopping for Power Blowers
Power blowers can make what would otherwise be an arduous yard clean-up into a simple and efficient procedure, but there are many options to consider when shopping for one. Today's most popular power blowers come in both handheld and backpack configurations. Shoulder and waist straps can also be tightened to fit your specifications. When shopping for a new power blower, you should keep a short list in mind of your specific needs so you can make the best decision. For instance, if your yard is especially large—say, bigger than 1/2-acre—a backpack power blower may be a better fit for you than having to lug a handheld blower up and down your lawn. Also, consider what attachments you may need as well. Another important aspect to consider is the noise levels produced by each power blower. If you live in a residential area or an area where noise ordinances may be enforced, you'll want to make sure that your power blower doesn't exceed the maximum decibel levels allowed in your area.
Now, there are two ways to assess a power blower's strength: how fast the blowers blow and how much air they can move. These two statistics are referred to as MPH and CFM, respectively. While many people use MPH as a determining factor in shopping for a power blower, you should be careful not to overlook each product's CFM since a blower's quality is not only determined by its blowing speed but also the rate at which it can keep the air moving.
If possible, you should make an attempt to actually hold each of the power blower's before making a purchase. In other words, it may be better to visit your local home improvement store rather than shopping for power blowers online so you can get a physical feel for each product.
