Shopping for Samsung Washers and Dryers

Electronics giant Samsung doesn’t just manufacture televisions, cell phones and cameras. They also make washers and dryers. There are over 20 models of washers and nearly models of dryers currently available. A washer and a dryer can be costly investments but should last almost 10 years is used properly.

Samsung only offers the popular front-loading type of washer. These have advantages over the standard top-loading machine. They typically use less water, detergent and energy. And they’re quieter, as well. Some people don’t like having to stoop to remove their washed clothes, but there are pedestals available from Samsung that raise the level of the washer and have storage space as well. The front-loading washer has a longer washing cycle and requires high efficiency detergent. The longer cycle allows it to operate more efficiently, clean more gently and remove more water during the spin cycle. Mold and mildew can build up in your front-loading washer so make sure to leave the door open after use.

Samsung offers washers in four capacity sizes: 4.0, 4.3, 4.5 and 5.0 cubic feet. These are all on the larger end for standard front-loading washers, which more typically run in the 3-4.2 cubic feet range. Their washers include features such as Vibration Reduction Technology, stainless steel washing drums, Power Foam stain removal technology, steam capability and the ActivFresh system of silver ions to sanitize clothes. Samsung also offers models that receive the Energy Star program certification for being energy efficient, which can save you hundreds in utility bills over the life of the appliance.

When it comes to choosing a dryer, the first question is what source of energy do you have? Samsung makes all of their dryers in both electric and gas-fueled models. Electric is easier to hook up. You’ll need a gas line otherwise. However, gas is generally gentler on your utility bills than electric.

Samsung dryers come in 7.3 and 7.4 cubic feet capacity models. Features include steam cleaning, a stainless steel drum, sensory drying to detect moisture levels, NSF-Sanitize certification for germ-free laundry and an interior light.

Both washer and dryers offer a variety of settings, including temperature control to give you more options for different kinds of fabrics. You can also choose appliances in different colors, including white, steel, blue and red.
