When the temperature dips below freezing, many typically fashion smart ladies lose their wits and go for bulky coverall looks, sacrificing all of their fashion knowledge with the sole goal of staying warm. What those otherwise intelligent women should know is that it's quite easy to stay warm in the winter without all that bulk; in the following, you'll learn about some of the best winter sweaters for the coming season.
For a classic winter sweater look that won't fall out of fashion next season, try the Pure Handknit Ribbed Cardigan, which sells at Neiman Marcus for $125. This cardigan comes in yellow or pink and has a shawl collar, oversized brown buttons, long sleeves and a relaxed fit. The 100% cotton sweater falls at the hip and works great as a top layer above thinner warmers. For a more extravagant winter sweater look, go for the See by Chloe Boucle Knit Cape, which sells for $775 at Neiman Marcus as well. This modern take on the winter sweater has a black and white boucle knit with blue and red piping through the body of the sweater. The hood of the sweater has a V neckline with a button down front, cape sleeves, an overall boxy shape and a hem that falls below the belt. The cape is made of an astoundingly soft virgin wool and nylon blend of all Italian materials. Bloomingdale's sells a more conservative look in the Tibi Three Quarter Sleeve Chunky Sweater, which retails for $275. This cable knit sweater comes in Cloud Cream and has a workplace friendly look. The pull on sweater has 3/4 length sleeves and a wide neck. Lastly, the bohemians might want the Aqua Sydney Long Sleeve Animal Printed Tunic, which has a wide neck, ribbed trimming along the neck and hem, and for $88 is made of a surprisingly comfortable cotton, wool and cashmere blend.
