Creative decorating ideas for St. Patrick's Day involve a bit more than just about taping up a couple of cut out shamrocks on your windows and putting green streamers on the ceiling. For a more authentic taste of the Emerald Isle, there are plenty of inspiring and creative decorating options. If you think outside of the common stereotypes -- green beer, leprechauns, and funny hats -- you can create a much more fun and interesting environment.
Plant Arrangements
Instead of using construction paper shamrocks to adorn your space, why not use Ireland-inspired plant arrangements? Placed in a rustic vase, plants and flowers like Bells of Ireland, often called shell flowers, green hydrangea, and actual Shamrock plants, will make lovely accents in any location, indoors or outdoors. For your rustic vase, think of a material like wicker or unglazed clay to give an Irish cottage feel.
