Tips for Making Cheap Fall Decorations
There are a variety of different tips for making cheap Fall decorations which will save you money yet still allow your house to reflect the Fall season. As a time with a number of different holidays and the gold and brown synonymous with the changing and falling of leaves from trees, these seasonal decorations are relatively easy to make with found items from around your home or from a few simple trips down to your local crafts store. String Up Dried Corn
Make wreaths or garlands from dried up corn cobs to hang on the wall or around a doorway, much like you would with evergreen branches around Christmas time. You can dry these corn cobs out yourself or buy them from Farmer's Markets in your area. Once they have dried out string them together with fishing line or some other strong twine or rope which won't weather and break when it is exposed to the constant weight of the dried corn cobs and the cold and wet weather of the Fall.
Make Autumn Planters
Fill basic gardening planters with Fall items as the weather begins to turn cold, like corn husks, a variety of different sizes and colors of gourds and small pumpkins. You won't have to water these things or take care of them beyond making sure they aren't directly exposed to rain and they won't cost more then a few bucks to gather the items at most. However, the colors alone will create the Fall spirit for anyone who is around them.
Foliage Placemats
Take cloth or even heavy duty paper that is a musky yellow, orange or brown and cut them out in the shape of leaves but big enough to be placemats on the dinner table. This will make everyone instantly feel the Fall spirit when they sit down at your table for a meal.
