Tips for Planting Impatiens
Impatiens are vivid annual flowers that can add a sense of majesty and beauty when planted in just about any garden or landscape. These plants can be purchased at your local gardening center or you can simply purchase the seeds and plant them yourself. If transporting your flowers from the local store, be sure to water them during this process and try to avoid letting them dry out for too long since these plants need a substantial amount of water in order to survive. Depending on your situation and preferences, you can plant the impatiens directly in your garden or in containers that can later be inserted in your garden.
Remember, when planting your impatiens, to avoid selecting spots that receive more than two hours of direct sunlight per day. While these plants can handle some direct sunlight, it is best to allow them to absorb indirect sunlight instead. When choosing a soil for your impatiens, go for soils that are fertile and well drained. However, these plants have been known to take root in poor soils as well so you don't have to worry too much about creating the perfect soil for your impatiens to be successful.
