If you or someone you know happens to be a Red Storm fan, you should celebrate your teams success with a March Madness party- St. John’s style. The St. John’s Red Storm team is back in the Men’s NCAA tournament for the first time since 2002. The Women’s team is also returning to the big dance for the second straight year. Naturally this provides a spark of enthusiasm for all Red Storm faithful who are sure to celebrate their teams success and forthcoming opportunity. Here are a few ideas that are surefire hits for all St. John’s fans.

Go Red

Nothing says St. Johns pride like bright red colors. The Johnnies wear red and white, so make sure you spice up your party with red décor. Red tableware and decorations can go a long way to showcasing your team spirit. Go crazy with red streamers and tablecloths that will be sure to provide splashes of red that will catch everyone’s eye. Also, feel free to serve red food and drinks. Some red Doritos or Fritos could be a fun touch while served with fruit punch or, if of age, red wine.

Vintage Jerseys

The best way to showcase Red Storm love is with a vintage jersey. An old school jersey is a sure conversation starter that everybody will love and appreciate. Though the team has lacked success recently, St. John’s basketball program has a rich tradition filled with great players. If you can get your hands on a Ron Artest, Marc Jackson, or even Chris Mullin jersey, it will be the talk of the party. Vintage jerseys can easily be found on ebay.com.

Trivia Game

Nothing brings out friendly competition like a trivia game. Do some research and come up with a few Red Storm specific questions to test those so called St. John’s fans of yours. This is a good way to keep everyone engaged throughout your party and it could even teach some little known facts about the team. For example: Who is the last St. John’s player to be drafted to the NBA? Answer: Lavor Postell.

Whichever creative ideas you come up with for throwing your March Madness party, watching the big game with your friends will undoubtedly be a highlight.
