The Jewish War Veterans of the USA offers three great scholarship awards that are given to Jewish students who are high school seniors in good standings at their school. The scholarships are the Bernard Rotberg Memorial Scholarship Fund at $1,000, the Louis S. Silvey Grant at $750, and the JWV Grant at $500. Jewish Community Services Scholarship
The Jewish Community Services Scholarship, also known as the JCS Scholarship, exists to benefit Jewish students who are from single parent households. To be considered for the scholarship, individuals must reside in the metropolitan Baltimore area and should be planning to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. Recipients are chosen based upon financial need, participation in the Jewish community, academic performance, and extracurricular activities. The amount that is awarded will vary each year.
Bentson Family Scholarship
The Bentson Family Scholarship offers awards in the amount of no less than $5,000 per year to worthy students who are attending the University of Minnesota. Special preference is given to Jewish students, and applicants must demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and leadership qualities, especially in their community. To be considered, students must submit a University of Minnesota Freshman Application for Admission, the annual deadline of which is December 15.
