Celebrity makeup artists work wonders on many celebrities. The path to becoming a professional makeup artist may be tough, but here are a few who have made their way to the top.
Scott Barnes is one of the few top celebrity makeup artists. Barnes came to New York City planning to be a fine-arts painter, but soon found that his artistic talents extended into the world of fashion. Some of Barnes’ work has been showcased on popular magazines such as Elle, InStyle, and Rolling Stone. The celebrities with whom he has worked include Beyonce, Celine Dion, and even Gwyneth Paltrow. Billy Brasfield, also known as Billy B, is a celebrity makeup artist who is most known for his work with Lady Gaga, and has also worked with Keri Hilson, Cindy Crawford and Sharon Stone. Billy B was the man behind Lady Gaga’s looks in music videos such as “Bad Romance,” “Born This Way,” and “Telephone.” His work has also appeared in fashion magazines like British Elle, Time, and Vanity Fair. Though he had a humble start behind the makeup counter of Macy’s in Herald Square, he has since risen to the top of the makeup world.
