Troubleshooting Tips for Whirlpool Washer

Whether you’re using a top load or front load Whirlpool washing machine, there are several tips you can use to help identify and troubleshoot the problems. Luckily, in the world of washing machines, Whirlpool is a fairly reputable brand, and the fix should be relatively simple. However, if you run into any serious problems, it is advised that you have a professional repairman or Whirlpool technician take a look at your machine. Also, be sure to check if any repairs or defects are covered under your specific warranty. Now, over years of wear and tear, it is expected that you will run into problems with your washing machine from time to time.

First, if you notice that your washer is relatively loud, you should check the valves behind your washer for any looseness and be sure to test the valves to make that they are fully open. Then, you should take a level and adjust the legs of your machine to reduce noise and vibration. If the problem persists, though, you may wish to purchase a set of “silent feet” for your washing machine. If you notice that your washer is not spinning, you should check the lid switch since this switch may be preventing the spin cycle from occurring.

Next, if you have leaks, give the washing machine’s drain hose a close inspection to check for small holes or tears and replace the drain hose, if necessary. If you notice excessive noise and irregular spinning, you should also check the drain hose for any foreign objects. If, after going through these steps, you’re still noticing irregular washing and spinning, you may want to have your machine’s motor checked out by a professional.
