What to Wear with a Gold Watch
A gold watch changes what you are going to wear with it, partly because of the statement being made with a gold watch and partly because there are certain colors and outfits that just go better with the gold tone wrapped around your wrist. So this should be taken into account if you are deciding whether or not to buy a gold watch, as it may effect the other outfits you can wear with it, causing a lot more to change then just the type of metal you keep time with. In other words, wearing a gold watch and having clothes to match it is a real commitment, but one that can be well-worth it.
Slick Suits
Wearing a slick suit with a gold watch is a bit of a no-brainer, as the elegance of both go together naturally. However, certain colors and hues of suit will work better with a gold watch then others, though it depends on what type of statement you are trying to make. Wearing a dark suit, like black or dark blue with a gold watch gives a much more serious, old-money impression, like you might get your money from the mafia, of something along those lines. Wearing a lighter colored suit, like a gray, tan or sear sucker suit with a gold watch gives a more modest, stylish impression. If you go too light, like with a white or cream colored suit, people will either think you and your gold watch perform hip hop or deal drugs, which may be just the impression you are trying to give.

What's better then a gold watch to gold enthusiasts? More gold. Wear gold rings on your fingers or gold earrings in your ears, so that the color matches, no matter what outfit you have on. Gold teeth and gold chains are going a little overboard, unless you are a rapper, as are gold clothes. But a subtle addition of gold to the outfit will really make the gold watch you are wearing become more seamlessly integrated into your overall look. Try gold cuff links on a dress shirt when you wear one, as this will compliment a gold watch nicely.
Lighter Colors or Earthy Colors
As mentioned when trying to find the color of suit to wear, colors play a big part when it comes to wearing clothing with a gold watch. This applies to all types of clothing, be they dressy or casual. Lighter colors, like white or gray t-shirts and hoodies will work well with a gold watch, as they will match it's natural brightness. Earthy tones, like dark greens, navy blues or dark browns will also compliment the natural earthy colors of gold, which is a mix of yellow, orange and brown.
Shoes and Pants
Unless you are on vacation, flip flops or sandals should not be worn with a gold watch. This means close-toed shoes only and socks, which in turn means you can't wear shorts with your gold watch, unless you want to be that guy wearing shorts, calf-high socks and shoes. Shoes, pants (be they slacks or jeans) are now a required part of your wardrobe, at least every time you slide that gold watch on.
