What to Wear with Neon Tank Tops
Summer is around the corner so it’s time to break out the blindly bright, crazy, fun neon tank tops that have been neglected (except for the odd party) all winter long. The easiest thing to wear your neon tank top with is a gorgeous tan since the bright colors will really make your tan pop. Aside from this there are a few other ways for you to wear this kind of tank top without it looking too harsh or overwhelming.
Under a Sheer Shirt
This summer, wearing sheer shirts is a huge trend that is both breezy and completely comfortable. Sheer shirts come in chiffon, light cotton and knitted, crocheted and macramé yarn. They are the perfect tops to wear to the beach, to the mall or around town. On their own these sheer and see-through shirts may be a little too revealing which is why they work well with another layer underneath. Pairing a neon tank top with a sheer shirt is a great way to add more dimension and color to an otherwise neutral outfit. Layering light fabric over the neon stifles the brightness of the color a little, but still allows the majority to show through for that vibrant pop.
With Black and White
Neon colors draw lots of attention and look great against bare skin. One of the drawbacks of these lively colors is that they are difficult to pair with other solid colors. The contrast between these outrageous colors and their more mild mannered relatives is harsh on the eye and not attractive. The two colors that neon works best with are black and white. Try pairing a neon tank top with a pair of black or white shorts. If solid colors are too tame for you grab a pair of black and white tribal print shorts or a similar skirt. The abstract patterns add more dimensions and make the outfit more interesting.
