Where to Buy a Tie Rack

Tie racks can make dressing for work in the morning a much more organized affair, and stores like Amazon, Overstock and Sears are great places to buy a tie rack. Shoppers will quickly discover that the cheapest tie racks are the wall mounted, non-mechanized coat hanger-style or peg-style racks. While the more expensive, motorized and illuminated tie racks are definitely flashy and fun, they may not be the best choice for people with tiny closets and a small assortment of ties, for whom space and practicality should be more of a deciding factor when shopping.

Amazon

Currently, there are almost 200 different tie racks available on Amazon, with models ranging from a simple coat hanger-style rack to a more elaborate and expensive motorized rack. Prices for tie racks sold through Amazon range from a low of $2.99 to a high of $182.06. For shoppers on a tight budget who only have a few dollars to spare, the Revolving Tie, Belt or Necklace Storage Rack sold by Amazon store Brands on Sale is a good representation of what can be expected at this price. The Revolving Tie, Belt or Necklace Storage Rack is a simple, non-motorized coat hanger-style tie rack with 12 aluminum arms which pivot for easy access. Surprisingly, the most expensive tie rack sold on Amazon through the ExecuSystems Storefront isn't motorized, but is instead a large and simple freestanding metal rack with two revolving tiers capable of holding many ties. This rack will fit in a large closet, and rests on a stable, square metal base.

Overstock

Online discount store Overstock offers almost 40 different types of tie racks, ranging in price from $24.99 to $50.99. None of the tie racks sold through Overstock are motorized, with the majority of the selection here consisting of metal, wall-mounted peg racks. At the low end of the Overstock price range is the Utility Hook 2-Peg Belt and Tie Rack, a small and solid metal rack with concealed screw mounting hardware included, and a choice of brass, nickel or chrome finishes. At the high end of the price spectrum is the Utility Hook 6-Peg Belt and Tie Rack, an almost identical but much longer rack made by the same company which manufactures the Utility Hook 2-Peg Belt and Tie Rack. One of the few tie racks sold through Overstock which isn't a wall mount peg rack is the John Louis 16-inch Tie and Belt Undermount Rack, a small metal rack priced at $37.76, and capable of holding an impressive 18 ties on its aluminum arms.

Sears

The Sears selection of tie racks is more diverse than the selection of Overstock, in so far as shoppers can either buy simple, non-mechanical, coat hanger style racks, or more elaborate mechanized racks. There are over 100 tie racks sold through Sears, with a price range of $5.51 to $178.84. The most affordable tie rack sold through the Sears online store website is the ClosetMaid 8051 Tie and Belt Rack, a wall mount wire rack with rubber tips on the end of each of the 25 arms. For shoppers who want something more involved, there is a more expensive tie rack available through Sears, the Smarttek Revolving Battery Operated Tie Rack, an illuminated, hard plastic rack which attaches to a closet rod and holds 64 ties.
