The oldest active brewery still in America, D.G. Yuengling & Son, started brewing beer back in 1829 in Pottsville, Pa. David Yuengling was the founder of D.G. Yuengling & Son and his company is still in family hands as of 2014. The original site in Pottsville has aging cellars that were carved deep into the rocky hillside where the brewery is located.
