Brine the pork. Soaking pork in this mixture helps keep it juicy and moist on the grill. These days pork has been bred to be so lean that this step is almost always necessary to ensure perfect results. For two pounds of pork chops:

THIS RECIPE IS HALVED ALREADY (most the ingredients except the honey and brown sugar) Puree the marinade ingredients in a food processor. May be prepared 2 days ahead. Refrigerate until use. Makes 1-1/2 cups marinade. Make marinade and pour over the pork chops. Marinate, in refrigerator, for 8 hours

Combine the first five ingredients. Place chops in glass baking dish...chops from marinade and grill or broil 4 inches...Brush occasionally with the marinade.

Pour 1 cup of soy sauce in bowl. Add brown sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add ginger, garlic powder and stir test taste. If more is needed add a little more soy sauce and brown sugar, stir to dissolve. Then add green onions. Put pork chops in marinade as long as possible, 3 hours is good or longer.
