Bolivia's capital of La Paz is the highest capital city in the world at 11,975 feet above sea level. The city of Potosi is the highest city in the world at 13,400 feet above sea level. The city is renown for the silver mines located in the Cerro Rico hills above Potosi. The oldest colonial church in Bolivia, the Church of San Francisco, was built in 1547 and can also be found in the city of Potosi.

The salt flats of Salar de Uyuni are nearly 4,000 square miles and boast structures that are made entirely out of salt bricks. Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America, and its shores are the resting place of the pre-Incan city of Tiwanaku. The partially buried city was supposedly home to between 15,000 and 30,000 people.

The Yungas road is well known as the most dangerous road on the planet and runs from La Paz to the Amazonian town of Coroico in northern Bolivia. Finally, the Madidi National Park covers nearly 7,000 square miles and is said to be home to nearly 11 percent of the worlds 9,000 bird species.
