In the United States, some grants for low-income families as of 2014 include the Very Low-Income Housing Repair Program, Self-Help Technical Assistance Grants and Technical and Supervisory Assistance Grants. These grants are part of the Single Family Housing Programs for rural American families with low to moderate incomes.
The Very Low-Income Housing Repair Program is intended for housing repairs and improvements, or for making the house secure for its occupants. The U.S. government subsidizes this grant. The Self-Help Technical Assistance Grants are made available to state, political, private or public organizations that aim to support low-income households by building homes situated in the countryside. The Technical and Supervisory Assistance Grants are provided to rural families for subsistence and maintenance of acceptable living conditions.
